It feels a little strange to be typing this, as I’m starting a whole new blog. For anyone reading this that doesn’t know my blogging journey, let’s get into it.
My Blogging Journey
I began my journey with blogging back in 2018, when I launched my first blog, All Things Ashley Marie. I shared about my life in that space for several years, but once I had my daughter in 2022, it went stagnant. I think I shared our birth story, but besides that – I never picked it back up quite like I thought I would. I guess you could say it just never felt quite right. I think I had started to outgrow the Blogger platform, and got tired of my overall blog design, but mainly – the blog name didn’t feel like a representation of who I was anymore. While I still want to use this space to share about things I love, such as home decor, it will also focus on motherhood, family, and eventually homeschool life.
I’m recently married to the love of my life, Michael Newton, and we have a two year old daughter. While thinking about some of the blog names I loved in the past and thinking of my new last name, the idea of The Newton Edit was born. I considered naming this blog the Ashley Newton Blog, since that is officially my name now, but The Newton Edit felt a little catchier, and after it popped in my head, it sparked my passion for blogging all over again so I’m just rolling with it.
This blog is a fresh start, but it’s more so the beginning of this exciting chapter in my life. And also the beginning of everything I truly wanted my original blog to be and I couldn’t be happier about that.
While most of the content here will be new, I have revived some of my old blog posts from my old blog. These are posts that I was either proud of, resonated with me, or just felt like they should have a space here too.
